With some great accessories you can make strong statements without the need of much stuff. Go for bold, bright, jewelled, metal, large, excessive pieces and then tone it out or blow it up accordingly. Just have fun doing it and make sure you own the look and not the other way around. In Jewellery on March 29, 2010 at 10:24 amAmazing rings by Imogen, you can find them for sale on Not Just a Label. These are the Crown ring and the Geometrics ring.
“Inspired by her surroundings, Imogen’s experimentalist jewellery takes influence from both architecture and nature combined – from the tallest building to the shyest flower. Delicate porcelain fragments are enrobed in the textured metals of bronze, silver and gold to dramatic effect, creating breathtaking yet wearable pieces. Pendants, rings and collars take an organic, creative twist at the hands of this skilled designer.”
Waiting
In Jewellery on March 24, 2010 at 1:05 pmThese beauties will soon be part of my collection. Two vintage Dior pieces from the 80’s. Looking forward for them to arrive. I recently have been doing research and reading about costume jewelry and the brands that started in the art deco period and which ones are still present today. It’s amazing how many elegant designs you are able to find. The pieces might not be in gold or silver but they usually feature Crystals and enamel bits paired with gold-plated or silver plated materials, very often even little pearls. They are the sort of pieces that don’t get made anymore and that transport you back to the wardrobe of films from the forties and the fifties. They are fit for royalty without the exaggerated prices. I have some other pieces I will be sharing with you soon.
