Just found the work of Marc Weaver on Cargo and I really like it. Through his website you can buy some of his screenprints they are about 100 dollars and most are sold out. I would love to own the one with the child’s head on a profile.

Boca do Lobo
In Artists, Designers, Product Design on September 18, 2010 at 10:52 amAn amazing Portuguese company that offers some of the most exciting designs I’ve ever seen. They describe themselves as emotional designers that explore their practice in a thin line between design and art. Handcrafted and handmade in Portugal the pieces have an enormous attention to detail being a feast for the eyes. The images shown here are objects and pieces from their limited edition collection. There is much more to see if you check their website. http://www.bocadolobo.com
Hotel Maison Moschino
In Clothes, Designers, Food, Hotels on August 21, 2010 at 11:38 amBuilt in 1840 the building was a former railway station that was converted into an extraordinary estate. The rooms are sort of themed and have hints of the Moschino heritage. The cushions are amazing, the pastry chandelier, the ball gown beds I particularly like the images of the food presented here. Looks like the perfect place to spend a weekend, live a short fairytale and dream away from reality.
100 Chairs in 100 Days
In Designers, Product Design on August 20, 2010 at 10:21 amAn amazing project executed by Martino Gamper in 2007. He actually did 100 chairs in 100 days. The chairs were all made of old pieces or parts of chairs that had been thrown away. Basically scrap. The combinations can lead to quite surprising forms. And I’m guessing that seeing them in the exhibition must be quite grand. With a dose of imagination and piles of what could be rubbish this idea is quite inspiring. Next time you think about throwing furniture away think again.
Hand Crafted
In Designers, Product Design on August 20, 2010 at 10:15 amKevin Krumnikl makes the most beautiful hand crafted furniture I have seen in a while. The pieces have simple lines, are extremely functional and look strong and solid. One of these pieces would definitely change the dynamics of a whole room. Love the table with the places for the laptop and the magazines, as well as the record player piece. Actually I really like all the pieces featured here. Great work from a great craftsman.
The Bauhaus Archive
In Artists, Designers, Personal, Photographers, Product Design on August 19, 2010 at 3:07 pmThis was one of the must places to see in Berlin. The archives of the school I wish I had been able to attend. We did not go to Dessau to see the actual grounds but we went to the archives that are actually quite small. Nevertheless they are great and I felt like I wanted to bring everything that was part of the exhibition with me. I was not able to take any photos inside as we had a German lady with quite rude manners following everyone around shouting harshly no pictures, no pictures. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
